What Makes KPSquared Different?

KPSquared Inc. is redefining child care as essential infrastructure across Alberta. Our family-centric model supports both parents and children, anchoring stability around real work schedules, reducing stress, and strengthening the emotional and economic foundations families depend on.

We specialize in 24-hour innovative care for families working non-traditional hours, while also offering standard-hour programs that follow the same high standards of quality, connection, and flexibility. Every KPSquared centre is designed to align care with life fostering child development, supporting parents, and strengthening the communities we serve.

Programs & Learning Framework

  • At KPSquared, curiosity is our curriculum.
Our Curiosity Framework aligns closely with Alberta’s FLIGHT: Early Learning and Care Framework, which views children as mighty learners, capable, resourceful, and full of potential.

This framework invites educators to move beyond instruction and into observation, reflection, and co-learning. Rather than asking children to fit within a program, we design environments and experiences that grow from their natural wonder. Educators follow children’s interests, document their thinking, and extend learning through open-ended exploration, conversation, and collaboration.

  • KPSquared delivers 24/7 child care for children ages 6 months to 12 years—built as care infrastructure for families navigating non-traditional hours and demanding careers. Our model supports every area of child development—intellectual, emotional, physical, and social—within a safe, nurturing environment that feels more like a home than an institution. It’s designed for consistency, comfort, and connection.

  • At KPSquared, our Inclusive Childcare program is designed to support children with exceptionalities through individualized, connection-based care. Our Inclusive Care Director works closely with families to assess needs and coordinate one-on-one support, ensuring children receive care tailored to their developmental goals. Using adaptive materials and flexible curriculum strategies, we create environments where children of all abilities can engage, explore, and grow alongside their peers.

  • KPSquared’s Standard-Hour programs offer the same level of excellence, connection, and curiosity-based learning found across all our centres xoperating Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Each space is thoughtfully designed to reflect the rhythm of a child’s day, balancing play, exploration, rest, and nourishment in environments that feel calm, engaging, and connected. Educators act as co-regulators and guides, supporting emotional intelligence, confidence, and autonomy through meaningful relationships and intentional learning experiences.

Our Approach

At KPSquared, our approach is rooted in neuroscience, attachment science, and curiosity-based learning. We understand that meaningful development happens when children feel safe, connected, and seen. Emotional security is the foundation for cognitive growth, resilience, and lifelong learning.

Our educators act as co-regulators, helping children build the emotional capacity to navigate challenges, form healthy relationships, and explore the world with confidence. We see behaviour as communication, curiosity as intelligence, and every interaction as an opportunity to strengthen a child’s sense of self.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, our environments are intentionally designed as the third teacher, calm, natural spaces that invite exploration, collaboration, and creative thinking. Learning emerges through play, dialogue, and discovery, allowing children to construct understanding rather than receive it.

We extend this same philosophy to families. Parents aren’t an extension of our work, they’re at the centre of it. Every decision, strategy, and interaction is built in partnership with the family. By cultivating trust and shared understanding, we create alignment between home and care environments so that children experience consistency, safety, and authentic connection across all parts of their lives.

Through this integrated model, where science, curiosity, and connection intersect, we’re not just caring for children; we’re cultivating the next generation of emotionally intelligent, resilient, and compassionate thinkers.

“Families are society’s most adaptable institution – a trait that is rooted in their constant need to adjust to ever-evolving environments. As organizations of all kinds consist of diverse family members, all of whom face unique realities, flexibility is key to the resiliency of families, the labour force and economy, and our greater society.”

— Sara MacNaull, Vanier Institute of the Family
